A Single Line From Trump’s 30-Year-Old Book Reveals Why He Is Waging War With The Press

Donald Trump has been in the limelight for decades and he has said a lot of things publicly, whether in television or radio interviews, or in his 20 books published over the years. Every so often a little Trumpian nugget comes back up to the surface.

In his book “The Art of the Deal,” Trump shared an interesting thought about the relationship between politicians and the press. He says:

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from dealing with politicians over the years, it’s that the only thing guaranteed to force them into action is the press — or, more specifically, fear of the press.

Obviously, this is true. It illustrates the important role a free press plays in holding our leaders accountable. This is why the free press is protected by the U.S. Constitution.

What it also reveals is that Donald Trump knows this fear well and that is exactly why he is currently working to discredit the media while pulling in his most loyal of fans like an abusive predator working his mindf*ck on his newest victim.

If Trump can convince a large portion of the population that the press is the enemy and he is the beloved one, he can free himself of the fear he has of the press and pave the way to basically do whatever he wants without accountability.

For Trump, fear is the enemy. Powerful men can’t fear anything, right?

With his quote in mind, now read what Donald Trump has tweeted about the press since he has taken office.
