Get ready for some good ol’ fashion Fox News outrage over shit they made up in their very teeny heads!
On December 17, Todd Starnes over at Bullshit Mountain posted an article titled,“SCROOGE! Grade school cancels performance of ‘A Christmas Carol'” where there was a whole bunch of anger about an elementary school canceling their annual Christmas play. According to the article, Centerville Elementary School in Lancaster County, Pa. decided to not go forward with the play after “unnamed parents” complained about Tiny Tim saying,”God bless us, everyone,” in the play.
The only problem with this is that it wasn’t true. In fact, Principal Tom Kramer released a statement explaining exactly why the play was canceled:
We want to clarify that the decision to cancel the play was a building decision, based upon interactions between myself and the fifth grade teaching team. This decision was made based primarily on instructional opportunities for students. Producing and performing a play is not part of the written curriculum for fifth grade.
Over the years, preparations had evolved to take 15 to 20 hours of instructional (educational) time to produce this play. Given changes in state standards in recent years, we could not defend the commitment of this kind of instructional time to something not part of the fifth grade curriculum. The teachers agreed that they did not want our students to be put at a disadvantage relative to their peers from other schools in preparation for 6th grade; therefore, the play was cancelled.
Principal Kramer even addressed the rumors that parents complaining about Jesus caused the play’s cancellation:
One rumor we’ve been addressing is that one or two families influenced this decision. That’s just not true. The instructional time issue was our primary concern. Alternative solutions were explored for offering the play differently, including the use of non-core instructional time, but it was decided by the building team to not go down this path. We also looked at having rehearsals after school hours, but, at this time, parents nor staff members have stepped forward to take advantage of this possibility.
So, the school actually did try to find alternative options to put the play on but none of the outraged Christian parents volunteered in the effort to get the kids ready for it. Strangely the Fox article completely leaves that bit of information out in their rage article.
Fox fans were, of course, super angry at this obvious attack on everything holy, jolly and Republican Jesusy:

Yep, this guy is actually complaining that the teachers will be teaching.
This one is apparently mad that Santa gets more respect than Jesus.
His avatar says it all, doesn’t it?
The comments go on and on like that.
So, Fox News has once again managed to take a non-issue and turn it into an assault on Christianity because their fans are too stupid to read the real statement from the school. Awesome.
