Mike Ditka went from relatively harmless, washed-up nobody to the living embodiment of what are truly the most disgusting aspects of white, racist America during a recent interview with KRLD-FM in Dallas.
In a what can only be described as a temper tantrum of panicked white fear, Ditka took the time to berate, criticize, and ultimately issue an eviction notice to Colin Kaepernick for the exercising of his right to free speech.
I think it’s a problem, anybody who disrespects this country and the flag. If they don’t like the country, if they don’t like our flag, get the hell out. That’s what I think.
Ditka appointed himself an expert on racism in America, when he declared that the “problems” everyone says are happening don’t exist because he “isn’t seeing them.” The problems he’s referring to are the ones that sparked Kaepernick’s protest in the first place — primarily the killings of unarmed black men by police which ironically have become more frequent and severe the longer Kap’s been protesting.
I have no respect for Colin Kaepernick. He probably has no respect for me, that’s his choice. My choice is that I like this country, I respect our flag, and I don’t see all the atrocities going on in this country that people say are going on.
All Ditka needs to do is tune into any news channel that doesn’t start with F and end with X, and you’ll hear about them. They seem to be happening every day. To suggest he is fully aware of Kap, yet totally unaware of the reasons Kap is doing what he’s doing is insulting to the intelligence of Americans. To know one is to know the other.
Not satisfied with just berating one black person, Ditka then carpet bombed all of black society with the classic white man’s grievances.
I see opportunities if people want to look for opportunity. Now if they don’t want to look for them, then you can find problems with anything, but this is the land of opportunity because you can be anything you want to be if you work. Now if you don’t work, that’s a different problem.
What does any of that have to do with anything? Ditka is trying to attack the character of every black person killed by police. These are all people who he does not know personally, yet he suggests that they are just lazy jobless moochers who choose not to work.
If they WERE lazy moochers that still doesn’t give the cops any right to murder them!
This is how you can tell a racist. All you need to do is give them a little time, and eventually they wander off-course from a specific gripe into more generalized white bitching and dog-whistle politics like “black people are lazy and hate to work.”
A little-known fun fact about Ditka:
He once retroactively credited himself with the power to have killed the presidency of Barack Obama before it even started.
In 2004, Ditka considered running against then-state senator Barack Obama for the open US Senate seat left vacant by Illinois Senator Peter Fitzgerald. Ultimately, he chose not to do so.
In an interview in 2013, Ditka said it was the “Biggest mistake I’ve ever made.” He went on to say “Not that I would have won, but I probably would have and he wouldn’t be in the White House.” Just this march, Ditka called Obama “the worst president we’ve ever had.”
Can we be honest? He says he’s the worst because he’s black. The blacks don’t belong giving the orders in Mike’s world. They belong on the field getting a lifetime of concussions in order to pay people like Ditka’s salary.
