New Jersey Tea Party Congressman Scott Garrett is considered to be one of the most vulnerable Republicans in the House of Representatives. Garrett, a member of the so-called House Freedom Caucus, has cast votes opposing equal pay for women and against help with healthcare expenses for 9/11 first responders. The latter of those votes likely doesn’t play too well in the area he represents — extreme North Jersey.
Now Garrett’s opponent, Democrat Josh Gottheimer, is going after Garrett with a hilarious new attack ad that highlights those votes, using an elderly woman who is seated on a park bench. “I just found out Congressman Scott Garrett is a Tea Party radical,” she says as a child runs by. So far, just like a thousand other political commercials. Then she says, “He voted against equal pay for women. Are you f—ing kidding me?”
That’s just the start of the fun. Check out one of the best ads from this election cycle, thanks to New Jersey Democrat Josh Gottheimer.
Can you blame a grandma for speaking her mind? Scott Garrett has pulled the wool over our eyes. Enough is enough. pic.twitter.com/GsjiNI733X
