Trump’s Purple Heart Disgrace Inspired This Vet To Raise Money…To Send Him To War

Cameron Kerr is an Army veteran who earned his Purple Heart Medal after the loss of his leg in Afghanistan. Kerr says he was repulsed when seeing Trump hold up the Purple Heart at one of his rallies and say,

I’ve always wanted to get a Purple Heart. This was much easier.

He told the Huffington Post, “It was the actual callousness of him saying, ‘I’ve always wanted one. This is much easier.’ There was kind of this revulsion of him making light of something people literally have to bleed or die for. Not understanding that gravity.”

That’s when Kerr decided he had to do something. So, in a satirical, dark internet joke he created a GoFundMe page for the cause and vented a bit of frustration, saying on the page,

As with seemingly everything else in his life, Mr. Trump got one handed to him instead of earning it. That being said, as a Purple Heart recipient [proof] who earned one the old-fashioned way by returning from Afghanistan one leg lighter, I fully endorse his desire to earn one and would happily oblige his interest in doing so, by being one of the first to chip in to fly him to the conflict zone of his choosing. After all, you’re never too old to follow your dreams.

Since accepting the Purple Heart from a retired vet at the rally, Trump’s lechery for the medal has been further exposed with his record of Vietnam War draft deferments – five in total, four for college and one for heel spurs.

Kerr didn’t expect money to actually be raised on the site, so he found himself in a bit of a situation when the fundraiser took off. Currently, the total raised exceeds $18,000 and is still growing. What to do with all that money?

Well, take Donald Trump’s horrendous actions and make something good out of it, of course, something that will also really chap Trump’s ass. The vet will be dividing the funds between three different charities that aid Syrian refugees. Kerr writes on his site,

All money actually raised will be distributed to vetted groups working directly with Syrian refugees as well as refugees of similar conflict zones – the decent fellow humans who were unfortunate enough to be in one of these regions when everything around them collapsed, and whom Trump has broadly categorized as likely terrorists unworthy of resettlement.

Now that’s just the best thing ever.
