You figured when Donald Trump got elected that the one media outlet that would be there to do his bidding would be Fox. And so far they have been the compliant servant of Trump and the GOP that you would expect, with a few occasional exceptions. But when Trump tweeted that the press is the enemy of the American people, it appears that was too much for Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace.
During an interview with Trump’s Chief of Staff Reince Priebus, Wallace told the former RNC chairman what his problem is with Trump’s declaration.
When the president says that we’re [the media] the enemy of the American people, it makes it sound like if you’re going against him, you’re going against the country.

And Wallace wasn’t done there. Priebus complained about the media failing to cover presidential news conferences with foreign leaders. Wallace responded that in fact, all major outlets had covered those events live. Priebus then turned his original complaint into another, saying that once those press conferences were over the news was once again filled with stories about Trump’s relationship with Russia. Wallace let him go on for a bit, then hit him with this: “You don’t get to tell us what to do.”
Trump fans and other assorted Foxbots didn’t like Wallace attacking one of their hero’s minions, and took to Facebook to whine about it. Their comments are a cornucopia of stupidity:
But there were others who agreed with Wallace:
You can bet those people who are complaining about Wallace, Fox, and “fake news” were hanging on every lie and distortion the “fair and balanced” network ran about Barack Obama. And now they get upset, not because of some story that Wallace and Priebus were discussing, but because he dared to defend his network’s — and others’ — right to report on stories as they see fit, without the president and his defenders labeling them “enemies of the American people.”
Here’s the exchange between Wallace and Priebus that has the little Trumpflakes crying and looking for safe spaces.
