Twitter Ruthlessly Mocks Trump For Confusing Sweden And Pakistan

On Saturday, during a campaign rally (seriously) in Florida, our Liar-in-Chief  made up a terrorist attack in Sweden to justify his ridiculous totally-not-a-Muslim-ban Muslim ban.

To which the rest world replied: “Huh? What the hell are you talking about?”

Of course, there was no attack in Sweden on Saturday. And while confused Scandinavians tweeted and intelligent Americans cringed, some have pointed out that there’s a non-zero chance Agent Orange was actually talking about the Thursday attack in Pakistan (to be clear here, the coast of Newfoundland and Labrador is closer to Sweden than Pakistan is, but Trump’s probably never seen a map in his life and wouldn’t recognize any of those places):

How do you confuse Sehwan for Sweden, and more pertinently, confuse Thursday for Saturday? Honestly, I’m not sure, but I think it requires a mindset similar to the one that confuses Breitbart and Fox for “news.”

At any rate, this sparked a whole new round of Trump mocking, as users wondered how anyone with an attention span longer than a goldfish could possibly mix the two up:

There comes a point, I think, when we realize that Trump isn’t playing 11th-dimension chess and that he isn’t making these things up to distract us from some greater game behind the scenes. Trump is doing this because he truly believes it, he truly is that stupid, and this true believer pathology is what got him elected.

And somehow, that’s far more terrifying than the reassuring lie that he’s some malicious mastermind.
